Cancer of the uterus and cervix

Symptoms : unexpected bleeding from the vagina especially after the menopause; irregular bleeding between periods; prolonged bleeding; unusual heavy bleeding after intercourse.

Associated factors : women who have had several pregnancies are at higher risk of both types of cancer.  Cancer of the cervix is more frequent in women who have had intercourse with several partners.  The Pap test is a means of detecting these types of cancer.
